  • Started off in a sustaining engineering role in the subsurface safety valve (SSSV) group. Transitioned to a development engineering role after 1.5 years. Worked independently on a few SSSV projects and then joined a group of two other engineers to develop a magnetically coupled tubing pressure insensitive TRSV, the Depthstar TRSV. Worked to develop the 4-1/2" and 5-1/2" TRSV and the assembly and accessory tools associated with it. I was offered the lead engineer over completion products position in Pune, India. I trained and worked with a small group of Indian engineers during their tenure in the US. The Completions group decided not to be satellited in Pune, so I transitioned into the Sand Control (SC) group. I spent a short time developing a system for the Enhanced Single Trip Multi Zone group before taking on a leadership role in SC. I took on a specialized small group of new employees that I trained to perform a variety of tasks from sustaining to development. The opportunity arose to take over the SC sustaining group where I was able to interview and hire 7 additional resources including drafters and engineers. Here I lead a team of 17 individuals incorporating a series of new processes and standards that brought the group from a 28% on time percentage to 96% within 6 months of implementation. After 14 months in this role, I was offered the team lead position of the SC Development group over 9 individuals including engineers, drafters, and technicians.
